Questions we’re asking

Council has invited "initial thoughts" during this initial phase and has said "your feedback will help shape this plan". However we are aware that this phase will also involve background research and then decisions related to the draft plan. We would like to know how long we have for feedback before decisions feeding into the draft plan are already made and our feedback will no longer be as relevant.

Local resident Adam Bowden (also founder of 'Stop Raw Sewage Into SEQ Waterways' FB Page) has asked Council to explain how it is managing the impacts of increased density on: sewer and stormwater systems; water quality entering Moreton Bay; RAMSAR environmental considerations; traffic and parking; and the character of coastal communities. He has asked this both for Sandgate and Wynnum. Two replies have been received but they have not answered Adam's questions. There is no excuse for Council not providing information about Wynnum as the process there is very close to completion.
