State ticks off on 15-storey Wynnum CBD plan as anger rises
A petition warns that the Wynnum Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan allows for 15 storeys but fails to guarantee infrastructure delivery or funding for green space, while also not taking into account "existing road congestion, parking pressure and stretched local amenities" and endangering "Wynnum’s established coastal character".
Sandgate Set for Urban Renewal
Cr Jared Cassidy says "this precinct plan is going to happen" and in order to "get the best deal for Sandgate ... people need to be active participants in these conversations." Council’s city planning chairman Cr Adam Allan says “We’ll work with the community to strike the right balance and protect Sandgate’s bayside character and outdoor lifestyle.”
