Who we are
Protect Sandgate’s Character is an alliance of local residents in the Sandgate area in Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (postcode 4017) who want town planning decisions to be made in the best interests of the area, and consultation processes to provide a genuine voice to local residents. The group formed in October 2019 to address concerns about Brisbane City Council’s neighbourhood planning process. Now in 2026, the group is primarily concerned about Council’s Sandgate Centre Suburban Renewal Precinct Plan. We know there must be change and there must be increased density but a range of options must be explored and the unique identity of the area and its town centre must be protected.
