Many residents support housing diversity but are sceptical that high-density development in the main street will deliver housing that is actually affordable to locals.

- Community members want to know who is likely to be able to afford to live in these apartments? At what price? Is it really true that having this type of housing will meaningfully and affordably address housing supply?
- Several residents point to existing examples on Brighton Road, Burnett Place, and Lagoon Street as evidence that good downsizing options can be achieved within existing height limits - challenging the argument that high-rise is necessary to address this need.
